OIFF 2015 Special Awards:
- OIFF “Oceanside Spotlight†Contest Winner: Oceanside Short Film (Larimore Productions, Oceanside, CA)
- OIFF Lifetime Achievement Award: John DeBello (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!) – Cult Filmmaker turned multimedia CEO, John DeBello, Accepted OIFF’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 for his work in the independent film industry & his contributions to cinema within the city of Oceanside. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! was programmed as OIFF 2015’s Opening Night feature, with DeBello present for both the opening & closing night galas.
- OIFF Awareness Award: Stacy Goldberg (Make-A-Film Foundation’s Mito Ambassador, The Magic Bracelet short film) The Make A Film Foundation grants film wishes to children with serious or life-threatening medical conditions, helping them to create short film legacies by teaming them with noted actors, directors, and writers. They believe the art of filmmaking is not only healing and therapeutic but also offers hope and builds self-esteem. The Magic Bracelet was a film thought up by Rina Goldberg & seen through by her parents Stacy & Ari. Rina’s script was adapted for the screen by Director Jon Poll & Academy Award Winner Diablo Cody. Its cast includes Hailee Steinfeld, Bailey Madison, JK Simmons, James Van Der Beek and many more. Stacy Received OIFF’s Awareness Award in 2015 for her work along side the Organization’s Founder Tamika Lamison for bringing further awareness to Mitochondrial Disease.
- Special Guest Performance: Gabbi McPhee (Sunday, August 16th, 2015)Â – Star of OIFF’s 2015 Winner for Best Picture, Keep in Touch, McPhee graced Oceanside with 2 Songs from said Film as the Closing Ceremony Came to an End.
